Belgium : ban on the import and sale of dog and catfur and products made of this fur.
Dierenleed Azië (animal suffering in Asia ) is very happy to announce this decision of the Belgian government.

Three ministers, Freya Vandenbossche (evironment), Rudy Demotte (public health & animal welfare) and Fientje Moerman (Economy) have decided to ban the import and trading of dog and catfur.

Since 1999 we supported the campaign of the Humane Society of the USA and since that time we were the leading Belgian animal welfare organization on this issue !

There is already a ban in Italy and Denmark and we hope that the Belgian decision will convince other countries to ban this cruel trade.

Furthermore it is a very powerful signal to the European Commission and we hope that within some time to welcome a total ban in the European Union.

On Friday 16 th January representatives of Dierenleed Azië and GAIA met representatives of the 3 ministries – this meeting was the official announcement and more details about this decision were given.

Belgia, podobnie jak wcześniej Dania i Włochy, zakazała importu i obrotu psimi i kocimi skórami. Co więcej, istnieją przesłanki aby sądzić, że zakaz ten może stać się wspólny dla całej Unii Europejskiej.

Chyba jakieś prawo z tym związane było kiedyś w Polsce - tyle że jako prawo martwe kompletnie...

większość przepisów dotyczących zwierząt istnieją tylko na papierze i będzie się to działo tak długo dopóki nie zmnieni się mentalnośc organów sprawiedliwości, ustawodawców i oczywiscie społeczenstwa

wg mnie pieniądz rządzi, wystarczy spojrzeć na ostatnia ustawę dotycząca przeprowadzania badań na zwierzętach - owszem może moje spojrzenie jest spaczone, ale jak można to sobie wytłumaczyć inaczej??
